The Supreme Court on Monday ordered the Nepal Police to release Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Nawaraj Silwal.
DIG Nawaraj Silwal has been detained on Monday morning on the charge of forging documents related to his performance evaluation.
The government later appointed Aryal to the top position citing his performance score was the highest among four contenders including Silwal, Chand and Bam Bahadur Bhandari.
Silwal again filed a writ at the Supreme Court, but the writ is still sub-judice.
